A carpenter is building a bed platform with an entertainment center at the foot - see left. Wooden floor, jute material will cover the closets or burlap close. - the table to the right was built for a kitchen island. The wood turned out quite well but --- can't really see in this one as the concrete stain is a bit dusty.
Skipped a few I think but the stairs are getting Rails, the wood is going up inside, (ceilings) and the floors are concrete, stained with eco friendly materials (not acidic)
Joel found a great old sink with aprons on both sides (rather huge). it will go in the wood with grey granite surround. Most of the materials have been found at auctions, refurb from other projects, etc. reuse and regreen!
Upstairs before the sink got put in, bath - the kitchen cabinets are getting stained right. - Wood and more wood! Stain turned out very well - it's all good, been through a few subs here and there who moved on, got different jobs, left - came back, didn't work out - did work out well so and so and so on!
OK it's not pretty but it will be handy, part of the aerobic system I think at the back, and the water reclamation system going in pipes go down side of the barn and drop into other pipes, thru to holding tank and out to garden areas. (from rain etc. off roof).
Nothing Gold Can Stay Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.
Eco Friendly, Green Living in a Barn!
Finally real live real time barn living. Beaver dam's and all:). The barn is up, foamed, mechanically complete, floors stained with eco friendly concrete material, walls painted and the hardest part? Alllllll of our 150 loads of misc stuff moved and if not in place - the necessary items are where the usual necessities are stored. (where do we accumulate this much?) Never mind I know.
We have geese, ducks, mini donks behind us, horses behind us (not ours mind you yet). Beatiful hawks and several owls. And it all of course needs mowed!
Obsessed with building a Green Eco Friendly Barn to live in on 80 acres backing up to a river, implementing a pond/five acre lake and maintain a friendly beaver relationship (they keep flooding the fields) they're industrious. This site is to document building the living accommodations on the land (barn structure) (geothermal, solar and water reclamation) Hopefully while helping both flora and fauna maintain!
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
